Jim graduated from Oxford University with a degree in physics before qualifying as a chartered accountant with KPMG. He was a member of KPMG’s corporate finance division when it was first set up and spent four years there advising on buying, selling and arranging funding for businesses. Jim founded Corbett Keeling in 1993. He heads up the firm’s sector teams and has extensive knowledge of the private equity industry. He is a past Chairman of the  Corporate Finance Faculty, the largest trade body worldwide for corporate financiers with over 7,000 members, and he served as alternate on the Takeover Panel.

Simon graduated from Oxford University with a degree in engineering and has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. He worked in investment banking for 30 years including as joint chairman of Corbett Keeling from 1995 to 2015. Prior to that he was at Hambros and Barclays de Zoete Wedd where he worked mainly on financings and sales of businesses. In 2015, Simon was appointed finance director of a growing business in the leisure sector and alongside this continues his involvement with Corbett Keeling as a Non Executive Director.

Francois has extensive and in-depth experience of the media sector, having spent over 12 years at Lazard in its TMT M&A advisory team. He has worked with a wide range of media companies and entrepreneurs across traditional and digital media in the UK and Europe. Francois also spent two years on the management board of Metro International, the international newspaper group, responsible for corporate development. More recently, Francois has worked with Corbett Keeling providing M&A, fund raising and strategic development advice to companies with a media/digital and consumer focus.

Rufus graduated from Oxford University and joined British Rail in 1987. He later moved into Railtrack’s commercial organisation, helping set up contracts with South Central, Thameslink and Gatwick Express. After moving to Australia in 2008, he worked as Deputy CEO at Sydney Metro and as Principal Consultant at Interfleet Australia, returning to England to set up Interfleet’s management consulting division in 2010-11.  Rufus works with Corbett Keeling on transactions in the Logistics sector, specialising particularly in transport.

Nick holds an MA in law from Cambridge University. He co-founded BlueHaven Capital Partners in 2010 having been CEO of Knight Frank’s investment management business where he grew assets under management to over £1 billion. During this period he established one of the largest pan-European property companies listed in London, as well as managing a portfolio of private UK property accounts and being Head of Financial Services. He previously spent 14 years at Morgan Grenfell in London and New York. Nick specialises in capital raising for asset backed transactions in the real estate, renewables and financial services sectors and collaborates with Corbett Keeling in these areas.

Mike Campbell is Corbett Keeling’s Engineering & Industrials Sector Adviser, and has 25 years’ experience working in and advising companies in this sector.

Mike is the Managing Director and founder of Campbell Ventures which provides hands-on interim management expertise to improve the performance and accelerate growth of client businesses in the engineering, industrial and related B2B service sectors. Campbell Ventures also assists Western companies to expand their operations in China by creating effective partnerships and JVs with Chinese companies. Mike has also advised many Chinese companies on M&A international expansion into Western countries.

Previously Mike held various senior interim CEO, COO and performance improvement/transformation positions at companies including: Heathrow Airport, Capita, Futuresource (international research company), B&M Longworth (a cleantech capital equipment manufacturer) and Precision Technologies Group (machine tool manufacturer). Prior to this, Mike was Managing Director of Ferranti Capital, advising on cross-border Chinese M&A deals in the engineering, industrials and technology sectors. Before joining Ferranti Mike was the Managing Director of an international management consultancy firm specialising in the electronic manufacturing sector.

Neill started his career in banking, qualifying as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (Scotland), and then moving into HR within the banking sector, initially in Scotland and then for the past 20 years in London. During this period he has had two overseas postings, in Portugal setting up operations for PwC, and in China. He has led over 20 Mergers & Acquisition projects from an HR perspective. Neill became HR Director at Corbett Keeling in 2016.

He then spent two and a half years at Nedbank Ltd (South Africa) in the credit risk and specialised debt division, where he gained experience across various transaction types including bolt-on acquisitions, debt restructuring, senior debt and working capital funding. His clients varied across a diverse range of sectors and included SMEs through to blue chip businesses such as AngloGold Ashanti and Siemens. Reece now manages transactions for Corbett Keeling.

He was previously Business Development Director at Alliance Pharma plc, responsible for acquisitions of brands, companies and novel technologies, and before then was Marketing Development Manager at Schering-Plough with responsibility for launching flagship brands. Rob has over 25 years experience working in the consumer sector having held senior director roles in sales, marketing and innovation.  After starting his career as a graduate at Whitbread Beer Co, Rob went on to work with major brands including Cow & Gate, Cathedral City and Yoplait before specialising in commercial management of large private label contracts at Dairy Crest and Greencore. Rob was one of the founding Directors of Adelie Foods and as Group Innovations and Marketing Director launched Urban Eat, which at c £140m pa is now the largest chilled food to go brand in the UK. In 2011, Rob founded the consultancy Visionise to help CEOs develop commercial growth solutions within the highly competitive Food and Drink Manufacturing sector. Paul has worked in the insurance sector for his whole career, becoming in 1988 Managing Director of JH Minet Reinsurance Brokers, one of the leading reinsurance brokers in the world. Following Minet’s acquisition by Aon, he was Managing Director of retrocessional reinsurance at leading independent Lloyd’s broker Ballantyne McKean & Sullivan. Since then he has worked in executive search. Paul is part of Corbett Keeling’s Financial services team, focusing particularly on insurance sector transactions.
