Company valuations and M&A trends by sector in H2 2025

Our latest M&A reports show how company valuations and deal activity have shifted across sectors in H2 2025. They draw on global listed company trading multiples and completed acquisitions to provide a broad market context.

We cover six industry sectors and their sub-sectors. To view the report most relevant to you, simply select your sector below:

Consumer

Support Services
Technology, Media and Telecoms

In H2 2025:

  • Listed company trading multiples remained resilient across many sectors
  • Deal volumes were lower than in the previous six months
  • Majority-control transaction multiples moved differently by sector and size

Taken together, the picture is nuanced. Listed trading multiples have generally held up, but valuations in completed deals vary by sector, and buyers are increasingly selective. Where businesses are well positioned, competition remains strong.

As ever, these figures are not a guide to the value of any individual private company. Outcomes vary widely depending on the quality, positioning, size and preparedness of the business itself.

While the reports focus on market indicators, our conversations with owners are usually about interpretation. What do these trends mean for your business? How ready are you, and what could strengthen value over the next one to three years?

That is where our Positioning and Readiness Optimisation (PRO) Review can help. It enables you to see your business through a buyer’s eyes, understand how it is likely to be valued today, and identify practical steps to strengthen value over time. The review is designed to put you in the strongest position, so any decision about whether and when to sell is well grounded and your business is ready to achieve the best outcome.

If you are starting to think about your future options, you may be weighing up whether now is the right time to sell, raise investment or simply prepare for the future. We would be happy to have a confidential conversation about where you stand and what your options might look like.
