John Pearson Tech & Media

John has extensive experience building, scaling and exiting technology and media businesses. He co-founded and led Virgin Radio, the UK’s first national commercial music station, before partnering with Chris Evans to create Ginger Media, which combined Virgin Radio with Ginger TV – producers of the award-winning TFI Friday for Channel 4. Ginger Media achieved a successful exit to SMG in 2001 for a record multiple.

As Chairman of Shazam, John helped grow the company from early start-up to over 1.3 billion users, culminating in its acquisition by Apple in 2018. He also co-founded World Architecture News, which he developed from start-up into a global platform, and The Food.com, an early-stage venture in online media.

Alongside his entrepreneurial ventures, John has held senior roles across SaaS software, fintech and insurance. He now advises and mentors high-growth businesses in both private equity and listed markets.

At Corbett Keeling, John draws on his deep expertise across technology and media to help clients sell their businesses, raise capital or make acquisitions.
